We are happy to announce Dr. Michele Calos as a speaker for the 2018 Undoing Aging Conference.
Dr. Calos obtained a B.A. in Zoology at Oxford University, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Harvard University working with Walter Gilbert.  She did postdoctoral research at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, in the laboratory of Jeffrey H. Miller.  Michele then accepted a faculty position at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she is now Professor in the Department of Genetics.

The Calos laboratory has developed a series of vectors, methods, and cell lines useful for genome engineering and gene therapy.  Notably, the lab developed the phiC31 integrase system, a phage integrase that performs sequence-specific integration in mammalian genomes.  The lab is focused on developing non-viral methods for gene therapy and gene editing in muscle.

"
“I am excited about attending this conference, because I know it will expose me to a lot of interesting speakers and ideas that I would not otherwise encounter.“ says Dr. Calos.
